Apella Completes Mag Survey Over Lac Dore North Iron-Vanadium-Titanium Project - Additional Drill Targets Identified

Apella Resources Inc. (TSX.V: APA); (Frankfurt Symbol: NWN) and its Board of Directors are pleased to announce that as part of its 2009 exploration program on its Lac Dore Iron-Vanadium-Titanium (Fe-V-Ti) Assemblage, Apella has completed a 66.7 km surface Magnetometer Survey (Mag) on its Lac Dore North Iron-Vanadium-Titanium Project, as reported on in Apella’s June 19, 2009 news release.

The Lac Dore North adjoins the well known 5.5 billion pound Lac Dore (Fe-V-Ti) deposit reported to be the world’s second largest vanadium deposit. The purpose of this program was to identify future drill targets for a follow-up diamond drill program.

Results of the 66.7 km mag survey carried out on the Lac Dore North Iron-Titanium-Vanadium property, situated in the Lac Dore Complex, Chibougamau area of Quebec have now been received. This survey was carried out in August 2009 by Geosig from Quebec City, using GSM –19WV, Gem Systems protonic precession and overhauser apparatus. The survey covered 29 claims representing an area of about 1160 hectares (ha).

The success of this magnetometer survey provides Apella with numerous drilling targets which will permit Apella to increase the geological resources at Lac Dore North.

Considerably strong mag anomalies have been recorded over a distance of 3,700 m. They form three bands or layers oriented NE cut and slightly displaced by transversal faults (NW, N-S and NNE-SSW). The three layers run parallel and give a 300 m magnetic anomaly. The strongest response corresponds to the NW layer which according to G.O. Allard would correspond to the P-1 mineralized zone explained in earlier Apella releases. These magnetic anomalies correspond to a line of outcrops covered by lichens and brushes. The central band is strong to the SW but, as expected, diminishes in magnetic intensity to the NE were the overburden thickens. Finally, the eastern layer which would correspond to P-3 is strongly decreasing in magnetic intensity when overburden becomes very thick (more than 30 m). This last band is running parallel to a NE elongated hill and does not outcrop. It is also noted that the magnetic oxide horizons are pinching to the NE, near the end of the magnetometer survey. The oxide layers then dissipate as the Lac Doré Complex narrows. The total field magnetic data vary from 51510 nT to 91194 nT.

Apella will now plan to apply a series of diamond drill holes in its next diamond drill program Lac Dore North Project aimed at these newly delineated target areas.
